to thine own self be true

Pink Tiger mentioned a girl at open mic night who had this tattoo.
Hmm. Might have to attend open mic night one of these nights.

In the meantime, being true to one's self should seem easy enough, except, it's not. Pretty sad when you lie to your own self, but even worse cuz you let yourself. Me? Right now? I'm pretty honest with myself, and that's very liveable.

Work has been work this week, and for the most part, it's had its share of EPOs for everyone, but i guess there'd been enough buffer of humor or what not that you can't help but just say ha ha ha, fuck it.

The lightsaber project was sorta put on hold this week. I'm going to start it up again this weekend. I basically know what must be done, but now it's just a matter of implementing and getting it over with.

I've got some other friends who'll help me make a cloak, robes, and whatever else. I swear, this year is going to be frickin awesome, and it's already 25% complete. Scary, right? ha ha. so true though. It's a great year in the making.

Darth Maul's lightsaber should be shipping out sometime this week. I have to call Bob and find out when to expect the darn thing. ah, can't wait. Simple pleasures. Erin was pretty reassuring during one of our tests at work. As geeked and nerded out as I can be, she said it's cool cuz she still likes me. And if she can think it, anyone can. :)

Had yet another midterm this week. No idea how i did til next week, and though i answered all the questions, i know i f'd up the second one. Here's to bonus points and partial credit...

I got some news this week that I did not expect for a little bit. For those who know, don't comment about it. ;) Let me keep my secrecy a little bit longer. For those who don't know, it's nothing special. Just expecting some stuff.

BumPod has come a long way. I've finally figured out the DVD to iPod process. BumPod currently has his contingent of music, music videos, video clips, and podcasts... but now, BumPod also has:
The Matrix, Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions, Star Wars Eps. I, II, and III, and The Incredibles. Yep. so far, seven feature length movies. Ah, BumPod just kicks all ass.

Not much else to report. I've got some family coming up next week, so I'm already anticipating their arrival. Gonna be a busy weekend...

It's 3am, and yet i'm not lonely. I'm not really tired either, but out of habit, i'll go on to sleep. Had meetings today, and i think they went well. Tomorrow (Friday), we shall see.

Oh...forgot to add. Got two of my Star Wars autographs, and also from last week, after visiting the Darth parents and Kerry, I got an Xmas present from the Darths, which i didn't get last time... an autographed pic from the creator of Master Yoda. How cool is that???

Ok, gonna call it a Thursday. Ninight.

BumPod, Welcome to the Dawn of a new age

Much of this weekend, aside from doing chores and errands, housework and garden work, baking brownies for game night on Saturday to baking a cake from scratch for my aunt's bday tonight when she came over to visit....

Much of this weekend was also spent on what I thought was only a dream...only a remote possibility... And yet... now, I must say.... Arise, Darth BumPod, Arise!

For now, not only do I have music...to make me dance the days away...

For now, not only do I have podcasts...to entertain and make me laugh...

For now, not only do I have video clips...such as THE JUGGANAUT BISH, and music videos...

I can now watch my movies.
And to start things off, I used one of my original DVDs...

years ago, my first few DVDs included Titan AE and a few others... I also had Star Wars Episode I. and so, what else SHOULD be the first?

Indeed. Everywhere I go, the Force goes with me. :) It has...begun.

Week in Review

Monday:
Work. Ha ha. after the messed up sleep patterns, I'm surprised I made it in before 10. But, it was a nice busy day. Paperwork and drawings, meetings and the usual. Can't complain.

Tuesday:
Nothing eventful, or else I'd still remember it for tonight. Softball game started at 6pm, so I had to miss out. Spring Break was over, so it was back to class. We got our midterm exam grade back for this class. I made a 95. Not too shabby. Philosophy grows on you, I guess. That was pretty much it.

Wednesday:
Ya know, just like Tuesday, same old. Can't recall doing anything different. For some reason, I expected Hailey to get proposed to this night. She told me a few things, and I was trying to convey to her, tonight is the night. But, I guess to not get her hyped up, she did not let herself get excited. Oddly enough, yet happily enough, her BF did propose to her this wednesday. Yet another happy engaged friend. :)

Thursday:
Meetings, drawings, paperwork, etc. Did I mention multiple EPOs throughout the week? I just might decide to post some new strips if I get the motivation. Went to class at an art exhibit. pretty cool stuff. Afterwards, visited the Darth parents in Katy, and then paid a surprise visit to Kerry. We chatted for a bit, and then I headed home. It was so nice to see her. It'd been too long, and she looked cute as ever. I saw a cool fire truck, fire engine, and ambulance.

Friday:
Well, it's still going. EPO was on full alert. From two sources. But, with the skills of a ninja, managed to avoid getting EPO'd. After work, stopped by Radio Shack, and the Lowe's. That's been the week in review.

This weekend, gonna do chores and errands, study for the other class midterm, and also go to Juliette's for Game Night. Ah, something to look forward to... :)

Family Movies

I just got a call a few minutes ago, and it started off as what seemed to be a telemarketer. Normally, i'd just say, nope, sorry, not interested, but thanks anyways. I've rarely been rude to one unless they had that approach. Tonight was no different.

I do have to question though, that every time i pick up the phone (and this is generally the window for dinner time), i always get asked for the man or woman of the house. Um... let's pretend he's speaking then, shall we?

So tonight, this one was a non-profit organization trying to bring out more family movies on TV and the theater. It started as being asked if I felt parents or grandparents were losing control against what is watched.

My reply? No. The parents are not losing control. It's called, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE A PARENT. If you let the kids watch movies, it's you, not Hollywood's fault. Hollywood is in it for the money, and as the whores of California as they are, they will do whatever it takes to sell. Can you blame them? No. Not really.

So, they then ask me if I had kids. I played along and said yes. They then said that as a 'concerned parent', it was time to stop talking about it, and start taking control. And they said they had several corporate sponsors, but the main one was some Family Entertainment Corp. or something. Whatever. And so they asked if this company can call me. I said, No.

So, they said, well, we'll just put down a note to ask for the woman of the house. And I had to respond at this time and said, How about not?

So, he kind of felt the tone in my voice, and said thank you for my time, etc...and I said thanks back and to have a good night. I figure, he's just doing his job. Lord knows, he might probably prefer doing something else, especially at 8 or 8:30pm.

But, i just think, ya know, if ya want to monitor what the kids watch, be more active.
You can't be there all the time, either. But ya know, I'm also the kid who went with my Dad and saw Scarface in the movie theater when I was 6 yrs old. Shit, I remember the movie and that time as if it was yesterday. Ha ha. And am I complaining? No. Does that make me or my Dad a bad person? No.

Rule # 18:
"Stop blaming others. Take responsibility for every area of your life".

it could be sweet

right now, i'm having one of those random moments, where, if i type what's on my mind as it happens or what not, don't be surprised if you end up saying once or more than once, what the hell is he taking about. at least it's not one of the truly random moments that i'm known for by some friends, but still... just felt like...typing.

just finished watching forrest gump again.
it's one of my favorites. it's one of two movies i ever got on VHS.
ah, the good old days... lots of cliche's and expressions from that movie, and though it's now among what we would and could call old school movies, the quotes still ring true.

Friday, i was sitting on and against the patio railing outside of Molly's and I tried to get Brian to sit next to this cool chic. It finally paid off... also helped getting Player to buy in on it. And Brian was like, i'll be damned if you set me up before i set you up. ha ha, i laughed. we'll see.
But, i was told to bring my "A" game Saturday, and I'm like... ha ha, what A game? i never know what hits or misses like Battleship, but whatever... right?

I was looking at the counter and it said at the time that there were 9601 hits on the blog. Yeah, it records those who don't stay too long, but still. every now and then, i stop to see if it's anyone i know. sometimes, i wonder if the very folks i'd wonder about how they were doing were the ones that found me and reading up on how i'm doing. well, that's what comments are for. and i get very few comments back. only Smiley's fully exempt from commenting, for the most part cuz he reminds me in the morning what i blogged about. ha ha. so true.

The brownies actually turned out just right. but as it is, i have to go buy some groceries tomorrow, or at least remind myself. i was supposed to go today, but decided against it.
it's 1:26am right now, and i'm gonna try my darndest NOT to stay up until 5am or so for the 3rd night straight. fun and all, but ha ha, it's a monday.

i've made some friends from Canada, and I've mentioned Delaineya several times on the blog, and right now, i'm wondering how she's doing. Aside from just the usual curiousity on my friends and hoping all is well with them, while watching Forrest Gump, they showed some of the beautiful scenery and one of them took my mind back to Alberta.

I haven't REALLY been actively seeking this, well, not as much as i should, but i've lost a good 7 or so pounds, and hopefully it's a trend that continues for a lil bit. i can't play softball this week or the next couple of weeks cuz of the game times versus classtime on Tuesday, but who knows? we may have yet another early dismissal or no class at all. if all else, i can't wait for the next 9pm game.

Next Saturday is another game night. i had fun last night and the company was very fun too. no, i don't think i brought any A-game of sorts, but still. it was fun, and i could almost be myself.
almost be versus actually being myself... there's a concept. i guess it's when there's someone there that, well, i don't want to fuly say "impress" because that implies a bit more, but just... in the sense of making first impressions at all, i just didn't want to be a full goober. if only life had post-game reviews. ha ha. sometimes. i'm looking forward to attending yet another one of these game nights. hopefully schedule permits. as an aside, Brian and I chatted when we had both left, and the reason why Juliet looked different from the first time i'd met her was, one, i was a wee bit tipsy the last time after 4 crown and cokes, but at the same time, she also had a different hair color. hmm. :) still. cute all the same.

i put some new pics up on myspace, and took down some of the older ones. that's all about that.

i could probably say more, but right now, just not feelin up to it.
but in the meantime, hope all y'all have a kickass (and not an ass kicked) week. :)

Not quite yet

so i posted at 1:53 this sunday morning, thinking, that would be it...

I was wrong. Somehow, i had this notion to go ahead and do some stuff, so, once again, i failed to sleep early. ha ha. I went ahead and did two loads of laundry, and then folded them, went ahead and baked some brownies, and they turned out nicely, and also watched Tears of the Sun.

After that, went ahead and started on looking at the budget and what not, all the while watching the dvd, waiting for the brownies to finish, and the 2nd batch to finish, and then put them in the dryer.

Somehow, i started falling asleep around 6 or 7am, and called it a night.

Woke up, started cleaning around the rooms again, vacuumed, etc.
Finished doing budget stuff, and I guess for the most part, the place is in decent order.
While I was cleaning around, I watched some of Jason X (no, not a Malcom X sequel, but a Friday the 13th movie). For some stupid reason, Fox, who was supposed to frickin show NASCAR, showed frickin COPS instead. WTF? So right now, I'm visiting nascar.com... and realized why. Heavy rains hit the Atlanta Motor Speedway, and they've postponed until Monday... but then again, Monday doesn't look that great either, so it may not be until Tuesday for a race. Who knows...

About to eat dinner in a few, but it's been a fairly productive and fun weekend. :)

Forward to something

Just living on a Sunday morning,
got my toast and tea and I'm warm and
I just thought I'd think about.

All the things to get and keep getting,
never enough not enough and never ending.
I just thought I'd think about.

The comfort of a knowledge of a rise above the sky
above could never parallel the challenge of an acquisition
in the here and now, here and now...

These are some fave lyrics from an old Letters to Cleo song.
It's Sunday morning, and while I don't have toast and tea,
I'm thinking of cookies or whatever's in the pantry...
but I'm warm and i'm smiling cuz tonight was a fun night.

As a flashback to Friday,
Work was work, and by 4:30, it wound down and the group was either gone physically,
or already celebrating being irish somewhere. Jose even said, "Are you in? Are you a team player?"
So I replied, "Yes, Jose, I am a MexiCAN, not a MexiCAN'T"

Jose laughs, because oddly enough, this is the first time he hears this, so he then goes to Pink Tiger and asks her ...almost the same thing,

"Yessica, are you in? Are you a MexiCAN'T or a MexiCAN'T?"

That threw us all off for a bit and I started to grin and laugh. Poor Josey.
Anyway, left work, caught up with everyone over at Molly's and had a few, and then pizza.
After a long time, and by then, our group on the patio dwindled, i went and checked out some stuff at Best Buy and Borders. Ended up getting two books from Borders, so that was cool. After that, due to a lot of caffeine in me, I just couldn't sleep. Ended up watching Pulp Fiction, reading one of the books, checked out eBay, and discovered a really cool program to edit stuff... as mentioned in the previous posts. Yeah, so cool, i lost track of time again and went to sleep at 5:30 or 6:00am or so. Woke up around 12, ate brunch, then watched Cradle to the Grave with DMX and Jet Li. After that, cleaned around the house a bit and watched some of the March Madness. A&M lost by one point. They did well, but...last minute shot got them. Maybe next year.

After the game, got ready really quick, and then headed over to Juliette's place for some games. :)
Ah, good times, fun times. We played Cranium in teams, and later played Settlers of Catan.
It was fun, but I do feel bad that we ganged up on Juliette during Settlers...mainly cuz she was whupping the three of us there playing with/against her. I haven't played board games in so long, that it's such a welcome activity and it was so much fun, we lost track of time again. I just got home a short while ago.
She's really nice and friendly, and cute too. I've got Brian to thank for the extended invite.

:)

a long week done

ok, since i haven't posted much at all this week, let's recap.

Monday... start of spring break.
Didn't really do much other than work.

Tuesday... what's new? uh huh. work. i was acting section mgr. muhahahaha... ok, so i didn't really do anything official, but hey, it was nice and quiet. EPO moments left and right, so much to name, just trust me on this... EPO was in rare form and got everyone. I was supposed to meet up with an old classmate and her kid for lunch. Planned it from last friday. Yeah, she didn't return my call and what not. Same one who has a record of standing me up. Ha ha. I almost expected it. She had her reasons which she gave at the end of the day, but by then it was like... we'll see what the rest of the week holds...prolly meetings... anyways... we had doubleheader softball games. The first game was cool. We lost, but we had a chance. Apparently, according to Jim, they were the #1 team, and for a while, we did have a chance. The second game was even better. We won. 15-5. Muhahaha. I struck out mainly cuz the other team was distracting, but by second at-bat, i knew to ignore them. Got on base with a single. Next person got out, and it was Jim's turn to bat. Jim had pulled some muscles or something so he wasn't at full capacity. He hit the ball towards shortstop, who then gave the ball to second to force me out at second. Yeah, I knew I was out, but then I figured, slide into second and break up the double play. It worked. :) Second baseman jumped up to avoid me but didn't have enough to make a play. Funny thing is that after that, I ended up pinch running for Jim. Next at bat, got on base, onto second. Jim hit it nicely and i got on in and scored. Fun Tuesday night.

Wednesday. So yeah... i slid into second. tore some skin off again, just like last week. BUT, last week wasn't as bad. just more of scrapes than anything. This week, took a good amount of real estate with me, so every morning and every night, gotta change out bandaids and all that. fun fun. work was work.

Today as Thursday can be, work was ok starting off, but was near ass-chewin' cuz of budgets. argh, i know it's part of the job, but still. got stuff done, but still.

Friday is gonna be one of those days, let's see what it holds. It will be busy, and I know a lot of stuff will get done, but ha ha...we'll see. St. Patricks Day is upon us once again. Usual ritual for the last few years is to go to Molly's and Cellar Bar. I may go, but only for a short bit.

Not much else planned for the weekend other than errands, chores, and going to a get together Brian mentioned. That and start studying for the other midterm and start a term paper. :)

Fun, right? of course!

Juggz got ya

Junk in the trunk

on myspace, Stacie love posted the following:

Stacie: "Mimi has a new boyfriend. He's Asian."
Ruben: "Is it Bum?"
Stacie: "No, Bum likes his wimmins with junk in the trunk."

My response, as I smile at this, and tell Stacie as well...
"That's not junk in your trunk... That's precious cargo"

:)

Monday Morning in the morning

This weekend was pretty ... well, not so much eventful, but i did get some things on my list done. I'd wanted to get started on my lightsaber project, and so I started getting parts on Friday after work. Saturday, it was mainly a day of putting things in order, cleaning around and what not. Got that done too.

Today, went to church, then started on errands. Exchanged the light switch and battery holder for the lightsaber to a cooler light switch and also a single four-pack versus individual battery packs. This will require a slight change so I have to find a wider pipe where I plan to keep the batteries, but... we'll see. As is it, Mom said she felt bad that I'm making my own and why not just buy one. Ha ha. Bob has one I can buy, but since i'm waiting for Maul by the first week of April, I'm just gonna try and have fun with this new project. We'll see.

Also picked up some mulch and did some yard work in the back. After that, did a lil domestic cleaning around the house. Exciting life, right? I had to sandpaper the polycarbonate rod, but not sure how much i had to sand off. I'll have to ask the friends at work in a few hours. Other than that, it's really been uneventful.

Just finished watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It's almost how I remembered from reading the book some time ago. It's always funny associating faces with names. Sure, my imagination while reading the book already knew what harry potter, hermione, and ron looked like, as well as hagrid... but the others are just cool comparing between book and movie. Yeah, I saw the first movie and then started reading all the books. Right now, I'm waiting for the next book, as well as next movie. As it is, it's gonna have more 'sequels' than star wars, unless they start going into Tales of the Jedi or Expanded Universe.

It's gonna be a long week as far as work goes. I can almost feel it. We're on spring break this week from school, so that is cool. One midterm already done, but we have another a week after we get back. Hmm. might actually study this week. That and a term paper for the other class. I'm curious how I did in the first midterm. It didn't seem too bad while taking the test, and I did study for it... we'll see.

Two games on tuesday. If they need me, i'll play. But since they're early games, who knows. Maybe more people will show up.

So yeah, that's been this weekend. No EPO tonight or during the weekend. Not so much that there's nothing to base them on, but aside from no time, eh... let's see what the rest of the week brings. :)

sunday morning late night

ha ha, so right now, to me, it's still saturday evening cuz i haven't slept yet.
Today was a lazy day of sorts as I only stayed at home, but i got some cleaning done, and some chores around the house. i wanted to watch harry potter on DVD this weekend, but looks like Friday and Saturday were no-go.

Right now, i'm about to hit the bed, but just wanted to say that my custom lightsaber design is almost done. well, yeah, practically it's done, minus a few details. I have to go to Radio Shack and exchange some of the parts I bought for something I think is better. It'll shave off a few inches overall. At first I was scared that the single-blade lightsaber was too long, but as it is, it's only 1.75 inches longer than the one Darth Vader used, so, it's all good. Besides, this one is custom so, it can be however i like it. :)

It's gonna look frickin sweet, and it's taken me some time to get motivated to, 1, start a new project, 2, start a lightsaber project, and 3..well... and find people who'll help me learn how on this first one. ha ha. something to pass the time until the Darth Maul lightsaber comes in.

Ok, the week prior was kinda blah. nothing much else to report outside the status blogs and the EPOs. Yeah, I know, lots more EPO comics this week and the previous week than the others combined, but ha ha, even Player noted how much of an EPO week it was.

Ok, time to go sleep. catch y'all laters!

Oh, and also made some cool andy warhol-esque pictures of Cindy, Wilson, and Stacie R.

3.08.2006

Duel of the EPO

ok, here's another quick one cuz i actually want to sleep before 1:30AM...

Work was unusually high with EPO. Mine forced me to seek shelter away from the source.
Funny thing is, when i had stepped out, partially cuz of the excess EPO, it had spread off onto everyone else like a plague.

When I came back, I just hid in the lab and started getting down to work on some drawings for Pepe. Actually got them done uninterrupted, and the rest of the day was nice and quiet. I'd intended to stay long enough to make up hours and not have to use vacation. As it is, I went ahead and reviewed paperwork and stayed an hour over what I needed, so...ah well. No complaints there.

But yeah, it was so bad, i just took my lunch outside and ate inside my truck.

Other than that, not much else to really report. No word from my friend via email... I guess lost cause, right?
ha ha. ah well. so close, yet so far.

What Went Wrong with Lando?

Man faces jail time for selling crack

A City of Poughkeepsie man faces a stint in jail for dealing crack in the city last year.
Landocalrissan Butler, 25, of Winnikee Avenue, entered a guilty plea Tuesday in Dutchess County Court to attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. Butler told Judge Thomas J. Dolan he had five small bags of crack in his pocket Dec. 22 when police arrested him on Morgan Avenue. He said he intended to sell the drugs.
In exchange for his plea, Butler was promised a sentence of six months in jail and five years on probation. He will also be required to forfeit a cell phone and $432 police said he obtained through illegal drug sales.

Butler remains jailed pending his sentencing, scheduled for April 4.

and here I thought Lando was more pimp than hustla...

For a smile

In the last year or so, i've noticed myself doing something out of habit...
Whenever a female friend of mine is having a birthday, I'd get them, at minimum, some flowers on their birthday.

I don't know why I've started doing this. Maybe it's because I don't really have a stable person to, not so much impress, but just get a daily smile out of. So, I rely on these friends to take a placeholder.

There's that instant, and you can try capturing it on film, but then you lose sight of it... but there's that instant of elation or whatever. surprise, maybe? there's just that look they have that I did something right and it was worth the flowers. worth it for that smile.

ok, so maybe it wasn't just in the last year, but when I was still in college, there was a rose garden in front of the library where Starrla, KC, and I worked. Starr would smoke against the pillar and watch me stand and hop around on the granite blocks, then i'd head over to the roses and snip a red one or a yellow one. Yellows were my fave cuz they smelled better. So, I'd trim a few roses and hand them to Starrla.

Come to think of it, I also gave some to Starrla's friend Amy cuz for awhile, her nickname for me was Flower Charmer. Ha ha. :/

Mom said I used to pick dandelions and other flowers when i was a kid and give them to her and other people.

Still remains, I guess. What I would do for a smile.

1200

1200 posts...

I woke up this morning, knowing if I had anything to do today, it would be to get a birthday cake and flowers for Erin. Work Erin. Yep, she's 20 today. She's prolly gonna read this sooner or later, ha ha, she's finally been introduced to the b-log. After that, then I am on Hailey's time, which I didn't find out til I got t work. Poor woman, she's all real sick and all, and she still tried to go to work til I told her to stay home. One, she'll be ineffective. Two, she'll be tired out quickly. And three, if she continued to get sick, she might get everyone else sick, or make her worse. Three reasons already to stay at home.

Work was work today. Not so much bad or EPO'd or anything, but actually got stuff done. There's just not enough time in the day because although a lot was actually done on this monday, there's just stuff to be done tomorrow. I had to leave work early today because of dental appointment. Actually, just after I got up around 7:30, dentist's office called and said they had an opening at 4pm, so, i took it. I'll just have to do the other appt later this week.

Anyway, after the dental appt., i just wanted to call it a day, and headed for home...

Doom and Elektra

The new members of the family:

Doctor Doom
-You know, I didn't expect Dr. Doom to be as big as he was... but good grief, when I was at the store, I was like...holy...

Elektra
-You've seen Daredevil, you've seen Elektra... I actually had the comic books. :)
Had,being the key term. Some of them went to bringing this one home. Pretty darn spiffy. Her sai are actually diecast.

Sideshow Collectibles continues to kick ass.

Lord Vader

Here are some ofthe pics for the Sideshow Collectibles Darth Vader Premium Format statue. Yes, it lights up. I tried to take a lit up pic, but... ha ha, it was so dark, so all you can see are the lights. Also included is a pic of the Vader helmet from earlier with lightsabers.

OMG Vienna Teng OMG

so i was on myspace showing Cindy my new layout, and so i wanted to change the song playing, and i finally picked a Vienna Teng favorite. yep, she's on myspace. so, i checked her webpage, and OMG OMG, she's coming back to Houston this May!!!

I AM SO TOTALLY FRICKIN GOING THERE

Mom says, don't you...have a final that night? Really.

and i'm like, ha ha, fuck it, i'll speed to Houston after my final.

She laughs, and says, you love that girl.

Yep.

Next?

So, i'm checking email before eating dinner,
and, ha ha, i got yet another rejection letter.

they've "received my wink, reviewed my profile, and are not interested".

No problem. just one less person to shed hope for. Ha ha.
so, as in the past, let's review why we're not a match. There's a trend going on.
Current assessment, i'm doing something wrong, or i'm ugly in some way or another. :)

About her and what she is looking for:
I am looking for a positive friendship that could turn into something more. I have not had much luck meeting quality guys in the bar so I decided to give this a try. Let me tell you a little about myself. I am an elementary teacher. I love working and being around children. I am honest, kind-hearted, sweet, silly, hard working and trust worthy. I am a good listener and a go getter. I believe in having dreams and working to reach your dreams. I am also creative, motivated, down to earth, and easy going. I love to get dressed up to watch a musical and also lounging on the couch watching T.V. I am always up for a new adventure. I enjoy being on/ near the water . I like floating down river, water skiing on the lake, jet skiing, and I want to learn how to wake board. I am an all around good person. I do not like arguing with people. I stand my ground but I am able to do so with an open mind . When it comes to dating, I do not like playing games nor do I like being played.

I am looking for someone that is honest, motivated, romantic, has a great sense of humor, and intelligent. I want someone that is family oriented with similar values as mine. I would like to meet someone that is exciting and somewhat of a thrill seeker. You should also enjoy children and traveling. If this sounds like you let me know.

I believe in living everyday as though it might be your last. I believe that you shouldn't do anything that you will be ashamed of later.

Cleaning out my closet... part 2

I got home after the comic store, lunch, and errands... cleaned a lil bit around the house, and rearranged my stuff to have space for the Dr Doom and Elektra. After that, helped Mom lean around the garage, and on the way back inside, i looked at a set of envelopes... i knew from who, and i just stared. instead of walking in, i got the envelopes and went inside.

These letters were dated 1995, with the last one sent March 6, 1995. How rare, considering tomorrow will be 11 years... letters from a friend i'd made, and she was really sweet and cute too. we'd write each other once a week for a bit, and then she moved...and then we lost touch. But the letters, i kept all these years, dunno why. we'd actually write 8-page handwritten letters to each other, etc. Ha ha, Bum in rare form, i guess.

I'd tried to look for her on and off through the years with no luck. I'd get someone with the same last name, tried calling, and said either they didn't know where, or didn't know who at all. On and off, i'd look. Tonight, i tried my luck again, and oddly enough... found someone i think might be her... except in a different part of the country. oddly enough, it was via the blog...

i'm not sure if it's her in a picture since it's been awhile, but if it is, *smile* it's her, at her desk... with a lot of baby pictures on her wall.

[pause]

This is where I say, "DOH!"

anyway, i sent her an email asking if it was her and giving a small background in case she forgot...and why i was saying hi. cross your fingers and let's see if she replies. who knows.
i'd just like to get in touch and keep in touch with an old friend.

:)

We'll see.

Cleaning out my closet... part 1

Hi,

today has been productive of sorts, but the night so far has been...mixed emotions.
No, nothing bad, but just... ya know the feeling when ya just get drained a good deal and you just don't know the outcome? it's almost like taking a test and not knowing how you did...

so, time to elaborate, huh? ok...

today, i woke up and went to church. after mass, i went to the comic book shop to see what of my comics and old loose figures they'd take back for store credit. I expected maybe making just $120 due to sheer quantity....and luck. so, i showed them what i had. some of the books were actually worth a bit, and the figures brought in a good deal too. Basically, when the dust settled, they took all i had to offer, and offered me back $430 in store credit. I was like, OH SHIT! No way! man, these guys rock my world.

Well, they had an Elektra Premium Format statue, and they also just received the Doctor Doom Premium Format statue, both from Sideshow Collectibles. Pretty pricy and right now, no longer available from the SSC store. Ebay has them priced around the same price, but there's also shipping to worry about. Ha ha, i traded up my quantity for quality. I swear, these statues kick ass.

After that, met up with the parents, had lunch, and ran an errand. After that, went on home and cleaned around the house...

Horn tootin on friday

Friday at work was a day of work.
I had four hours to get 40, but ended up saying i'll work 44 for the week.
By the time I left, I racked up about 46, but i'm still gonna call it 44.
Even if I didn't even finish my lunch and what was warm spaghetti was cool by the time i was done. but hey, it was a work day, and some good stuff was done.

Terry got his stuff taken cared of and met his challenge. He just has to tie up some loose ends on something on Monday, but i'm proud of him for "getting 'r done". Poor guy, he was gonna wait several hours to get two signatures on some paperwork just so a third person will sign it. I asked for his paperwork, and told him, nuh uh. you're good to go, and if anyone questions, take this work instruction with you. you're good to go. So, that saved a few hours wait.

Hailz was busy all week. Poor woman, she's to young for this stress, but she's a trooper. She got a lot of stuff done too, and while next week isn't going to let up much, she's still hanging in there and making me proud.

Player? well, Player is just Player. Scary, but I see myself in him. All the things I did when I first started, he does. And he's eager. Anyway, it's just funny cuz i'd remember all the grief and smiles i gave my supervisors back then, and he's doing some of them now. :)

But the horn tootin' moment for Friday? Two PhDs who I respect a lot cuz I know they know a LOT of stuff, stop me just when I'm about to sneak off with Pink Tiger to sign some paperwork AND finish my lunch. They wanted to get some info on something they got an email on. And i'm thinking, "you guys are asking me? Your two PhDs make my BS cower." Anyways, I told them I'd get on it right then and there, bail on Pink Tiger, and headed for my desk. Sure enough, a few minutes later, I'm sending info to the printer when they're done chatting with one of the other engineers. I asked, "where are y'all goin'?" They said they were heading back to their desk, and I smiled and said, "well, at least wait for the info you wanted." You got it already? "Yep"

t was a nice feel good moment when I actually can help out. :)

Thank you, Google. :) ha ha ha ha. ;)

Spring 06 cleaning

Today was a day of errands, and now it's a night of spring cleaning...

I'd planned to have the oil changed and tired rotated on the truck, as well as get new passport pictures. So far so good. Woke up at 10am, though i was awake since earlier, on and off. What sucked was that Dad's worked called at 4am to ask if he was still coming in. Argh, call at -5- AM, not -4- AM, retards! ha ha, those who know me would prolly be saying, "Does it matter, Bum? That's the time you're just getting to sleep anyways." Ha ha, I'd played BLACK again on Xbox last night, but went to sleep around 2am, i think.

So, back to this morning... changed the oil, got passport pics taken, got the tires rotated, did two loads of laundry and folded all done, and then started to go through one of the closets.

It's been a long wait to get to this point, but I'm starting to let some stuff go. Either given away or just try to get some credit at the comic book store. AS it is, I'm getting rid of a lot of comic books, so much so that I'm cutting down what I have by 75-80%. Well, that's if they take that much from me. I'm sure they'll say yes to some, but No to most, but i'll make them a good offer. I'm also getting rid of several action figures. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping they'll work with me. They've done so before. :) My quantity for their quality. They are the friendliest comic book store i've ever been a regular to. The others, while one was cool and nice to me, the rest... didn't even bother to put them in my address book. This one, i have their three branches on my address book, and they're all friendly.

Other than that, about to go eat dinner. Three medium sized bins of comics and figures. I think I can go through a few more... we'll see. But, that's been my Saturday so far. Later, i'm prolly gonna treadmill and watch an episode of Grey's Anatomy/Season I, an Anime series, or some other dvd.

:)

quick and dirty

here's the quick lowdown...

work was ok, went to class, had fun.
we recapped prehistoric art, ancient art, all the way up to roman and byzantine art.
midterm is postponed unil a week after spring break. we all agreed on how weird and demented the last museum visit we had was. i had fun, but yeah...

after school, went to Best Buy, got the CDs Mom wanted... also picked up BLACK and Lego Star Wars for XBOX, and also Lady and the Tramp on DVD. played BLACK for a while...well, til 2:30ish. decided to check work email to track a package, bt instead, ended up reviewing paperwork and a drawing. sick, i know, but i figured, why not?
so, not even at work yet, and already put in an hour effort answering emails, reviewing, etc.

hmm. no complaints, one hour earlier i can go home.
not much else to really note...thank goodness it's friday. it's gonna be a fun one.

ninight. :)

The old ballgame

back in 2001, i had a pretty rough month in May.
Two trips to the ER, within weeks of each other...

one such trip, the second one, really, was because of an incident during a softball game. I was playing right field, and it was during a night game. A pop-fly was coming round that and i basically had it. well, except for the fact that i was possibly impatient, or just wondering, where the hell is the ball? so, although i had the glove waiting, i wondered where is the ball. i move the glove, WHAM... softball gets my lip, i'm bleeding, and the temporary tooth tht was there in place of the tooth i'd lost 2 weeks prior got knocked out. Go figure. didn't hurt anything else, teethwise...just that one tooth. that was my last game for awhile.

2 yrs later, the team needed someone to fill in. i got my cleats and glove out of retirement a few games, and actually did alright. i'm not a power-hitter, so i won't fool myself swinging for the fences. what i DO like to do is aim for the holes in the defense, get on base, and advance runners if possible. And for the most part, i'm pretty consistent when it comes to getting on base.
during this stint, i was on first, RRowland was up to bat, and he can hit decent, but i run much faster. well, he hit the ball around shortstop and 2nd, and i'm making my way to second. Rob was prolly gonna get thrown out so I basically slid into second. Note: I've played soccer more than anything in my life, so when I slide, it's basically to slide tackle. So, I slid towards 2nd, and the 2nd baseman tried to get a throw off to 1st, but I'd gotten him good enough that he never got to make that throw. Not so much a dirty tactic, it was a clean slide. Rob was safe :)

Enter 2/28/06. We didn't have class this Tuesday so I'd volunteered to play. The usual comments about, "oh, he's going to hurt himself again", etc etc came up. I roll with the jibs, but you know...I'd only been hurt once, and I wasn't the oly trip to the ER. Jim's gotten hurt several times, and he also took stitches. Randy ran to the backfield to catch a ball, and ran into the fence. Only thing is, he didn't run towards the fence that would bend, he ran into the pole. Falco was waiting for a grounder on 1st. It took a funny hop and pegged him on the forehead. Stacey got on on the ankle on a mean grounder. (and Jim might deny this, but he's been injured way more times than anyone else). That said, I had to stop by Walmart to pick up some gear. Made it in time to get a few throws and a little stretching.

Let's see, who was there to play? Player, Skip, Rob R., Michelle, Stacey, Rob K., Jim, Terry (female), Erin, Donna, and Me. Stace had asked e to play catcher, and I was like...doh! i once took a check-swing to the forehead when i played catcher...that's why i moved to right field.

Well, luckily, the Umpire said i could pretty much stand beside him and nowhere near the batter. awesome. that i can do. so, yeah, i played catcher and it was cool. During bat, i got on base both times, so i can't complain. In one of the last innings, though, there was a scare. Terry and Jim were going for the same ball and I thought they knew where the other was... nope. They collided, took each other out. I think it still counted that Terry caught the ball...not sure, but the game was still in play. Rob R. picked up the ball, and it either got relayed, or he threw it himself, but it went left to our side of the dugout. I went to get the ball just in case, thinking, who in their mind would run towards home, right?

The big 3rd baseman from the other team was chugging towards home, and i was like, aw crap. So I braced the ball inside my glove, and waited til he got closer to the plate and pretty much stood up to him, took a bit of a hit, but held onto the ball. Yep. he was out at the plate. :) Jim would have been proud, but he missed it. :)

Ah well. We didn't win the game, but, ha ha, "we were all winners".
