The Aggie Cult at work
I'm an Aggie. I graduated from Texas AM University.
To some like me, that's an awesome thing that you can never take away.
We have our own traditions and we honor as much of them as we can.
To others, we're a frickin brainwashed cult.
"what's up with that A-A-A thing that the other co-op did?"
"Yeah, Bum, what the hell was that about? I was sitting in front of her when she did that, and i was like...oh noOOOoooo."
It's a tradition. Sophomores don't whoop. they go A-A-A-A-A. She's cute too, but the point is this, she has school spirit and pride. So Work Erin and Wonder Woman were disturbed at this, and I had to explain. They still think Aggies are brainwashed and are a cult, but hey, it's all good. Then we talked about the Aggie Ring.
"It's like... like... it says we're a part of a big family and stuff. We came from the same place."
They didn't buy it. Anyway, after work, I went to Best Buy. I had to buy some blank CDs, but also stopped to check out some video games and was at the XBOX 360 display when a father and son stood there, checking the game system out and such, and said howdy. This was an Aggie. Aggie hat, aggie jacket, his own son wore Aggie gear. And yeah, he (the father) had the ring and all. He wanted to get his kid a new system and wanted to check on the difference, as far as opinion goes, between the Xbox 360 and the PS2. So, i answered his questions, let the kid play, and he looked at my ring and said, "Aggie?" "Yes sir" "Howdy, so-andso, class of 91"
"Howdy, Bum, class of 99"
It was like... omg, omg, we were just talking about this at work. and i had to laugh.
After answering his questions, telling him to wait til the PS3 comes out, and THEN decide, i got the blank CDs and went home.
Before Best Buy, though, I went to Borders and saw a book i'd like to get soon. Cute girls at the bookstore. Hmmm. :) Cute chics like to read. ha ha.
