just give me the light

this week has been a pretty decent week.
workwise, been busy and it's always fun that way.
in a few hours, we're gonna have a branch 'seasonal' party.

i dunno what they're calling it. but, it's a get-together. can't really complain if at all.

so like i said, i saw 40-yr old virgin last night. i didn't get to watch it in the theaters, but from what i'd heard, it'd definitely be one of those movies to watch. so, the dvd came out this week, watched it last night, and it wasn't too shabby. as with what some movie reviewers would say, "i laughed, i cried, i cried from laughing, holy shit, this is my story". the born-again 29-yr old virgin. the ensemble cast was pretty good. at times, ya just have to go, no way..... but then ya also wanna say, yes way. the ending was ok, in the pass me another bottle sort of way. the whole singing bit was.... strange. but, it was cool all the same.

before that, two nights ago, i saw Valiant. it's an animation movie from Disney, messenger/carrier pigeons during WWII. I thought it was pretty funny and cool.

I found out earlier this week that i won a prize from sideshow collectibles. they had a pre-holiday contest where you take jingle bells and make a bit of a song parody and make the topic be based on friday the thirteenth's Jason. so, i posted mine. I didn't know who would win, and i figured mine was too long and rough to be considered a winner, but some friends said it was a contender. hmm. maybe they were just saying that.

those who know me at work know that as much as work sometimes gets, i try to have some levity through it all. in the past, i've left voicemail which was work related, and yet with enough humor. i.e. darth vader, godfather, or whatever else -themed voicemails. a coworker actually recorded the voicemail once cuz it was darth vader. ha ha. well, i figured i'd add some light-hearted humor so i 'sang' it for sideshow. they liked it and asked if they could use some of it, and i said, sure, why not. in a surprise return, they're extending a prize to me for a 12" friday the 13th figure. wow, unexpected, but very much appreciated.

today was the comic book store's collector sale. basically, if you were a regular or had a subscription with them, you were qualified to join in their special after hours sale. 25-50% on all items. well, i figured if there's gona be a friday the 13th fig, might as well get a freddy krueger while at it. so, a normally $40 fig was now $20. they also had a Roger Moore 'james bond' as in Moonraker. yep. astronaut themed. so, got that too. basically, two for the price of one. they also had doorprizes. i got a really cool movie poster and some keychains. not too shabby considering they're from the movie, Serenity. that comes out on dvd next week.... ooOOooo.

that's really been the week, for the most part. i took my last exam for the semester... no idea how i did...but i can only hope i did ok.

hailz said that michael was soon to be in the hizzouse...i'm sure she's excited over that. and finally,..this girl i have had a lil bit of a crush on at work said hi this week. eh, i know, doesn't mean shit or anything, but she said hi, and brought a smile to me.

:)
