Cry, Say Uncle, and think Immortality

So before I forget this, I had this random thought as we listened to Vienna sing Say Uncle.

It's not an original thought, mind you, because I'm sure that with all of our history as mankind, many, many people, have pondered this... but as she sang this song about her Uncle who passed away, and "these days everyone cries "say uncle"they want to touch your spirit lest it die."

It really is true. Aside from how we live our lives, how others perceive and choose to remember us when we have gone determines part of our immortality. How our relatives, and to some degree, our friends and those we touch along the way, they all add to our sense of immortality. They would carry on our memory, and isn't it our memories that add to who we are? Everyone knows the body ages and passes its cycle until it has died, but the constant is that spirit inside that keeps going. Maybe it's another reason why we say the expression Keep the spirit alive. We can't keep the body forever young, but the spirit, our spirit, has the power to stay young as long as it can, and hopefully, can be granted immortality.
