by the way, merry fuckin xmas

i've been doing what i do for a little over five years now. almost every year, there've been layoffs, or, as they call them, RIFs. Reduction In Force. quit giving shit different names. your asses are getting fired, not so much cuz ya suck, but cuz there ain't money in the pot.
now, granted, it's been almost once a year for the last 4-5 that this happens. it just...somehow does. what i cannot get over is that it usually takes place right around December. Right around the Christmas season. but oh, no, what happens is that you don't lose your job in December. No. you find out about it then, but then you have til January.
same boat again. but someone we work with got a notice 2 days before christmas. me? i'd just as well waited til next week at LEAST after christmas, or wait til new year... but not 2 days before Christmas. i think that's just wrong.
it's like saying, hi, please come in. we're sorry to inform you that in a few weeks, we cannot afford to hold onto you, so at that time, we must ask you to leave as your position will be terminated. by the way, merry fuckin' christmas.
tactless. almost as bad as asking to donate more money during the morning, getting told that jobs will be cut in a few months, and that the next day, there's a blood drive.
money. jobs. blood.
that's not really too much to ask. ha
