A lil cleaning
Tonight, I stayed at home, being domestic.
Cleaned out my room, my bathroom, and the exercise room...well, mainly my stuff in it. During that I was looking for stuff to donate...that was actually the motivation behind all this cleanin and stuff...and while I was going through the stuff, I came across a pile of papers I'd collected... yeah, I have packrat tendencies.
Some of these were from someone we'd met on a trip to Europe back in 1994. There were these two sisters, Yvette and Sandra Lau... and it was like a 2 1/2 or 3 week trek from London all the way to France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Italy. Pretty much, the first few days, everyone kept to themselves, but after then, folks tended to establish their travemates, or the ones they talked with the most. Although I was with my folks, Yvette, Sandra, and I were the closest as far as age went... no more than a year apart. They're from New York, and worked at their folks' photoplace.
Anyways, yeah, it's been 11 yrs and as I was going through a box, i saw a postcard they had sent while on the trip, a Christmas card, and part of a letter that Yvettte had sent. So... gotta love technology, I wondered what the sisters were up to... so, they got googled... and the first link that I got was actually related to Yvette, so I went to it, and it was an Engagement site where her and her fiance have a wedding announcement. 11 yrs ago, we were talking about whether or not we'd find soulmates and now here she is with hers. I'm so happy for her :) so i emailed them and said hey and how happy I was on their good news.
Small world, even though years had passed, I still have a few memories. One, how Sandra had sprayed me with Sunflowers spray at this shopping area in the Gallerie in France. We were roaming their mall as if we would here Stateside, Sandra picked up a bottle of Sunflowers, and I was just standing behind her looking over her shoulder, and she thought I was standing on her other side, so she sprays and says "Bum, smell this"...and I caught it in my face, basically, and so all I could smell for the next oh so long was Sunflowers...and we all had a laugh about it.
That and how we kept trying to get our tour guide Martin (from Austria) to say Arnold Schwarneggar lines.
Heh... good times.
