the last day of august...2005.
How can I complain?
i had a dentist's appt. that was supposed to be at 9am. i got there at 8:25, and they took me in for an 8:30 appt. nice. the dental hygienist was pretty cool. and cute. so, there i lied down and got my teeth cleaned. and then as i lay there, she told me to move my head closer so i did...and *angelic voices and trumpets* i felt boobie.
and i thought it would come to pass when i had to turn and face the other way... but no. boobie was still there. i *heart* the dental visit.
went to work. it was all good. got some work done. had a few issues, but hey, it's all good. i felt boobie before 9:30, damnit!
a good sized group of us tried the newly opened Panera Bread place near Best Buy. Looks like a LOT of people had the same idea. but hey, it's cool. the food was good, and the brocoli cheese whatever soup was pretty nice too. great ambiance, cool company, and watching one of the managers flirt with the manager...priceless.
2-3pm. every now and then, this time period means snack time. could mean coffee, could mean ice cream..whatever. well...2 came and went. 3 came and went. so finally, by 4... left with Hails to go get something. I wanted to get tapioca cuz it's been awhile... so we went....just as we left the tapioca place... the truck wouldn't start. What the? try again. hrm. un-frickin-cool. heh.
so after a few calls... a distinct feeling...this COULD be...a battery issue. did i mention i felt boobie before 9:30am? i did? oh...well, i meant the fates smiled upon me this day because lo and behold, a few doors down, ... Auto-Zone. That's right buddy! so i asked them if they could confirm it...and yep. Time to sing the Battery Blues cuz the voltage....the voltage is gone.
so, Hails and I went ahead and changed out the battery with the new one...yeah, the Autozone folks dind't bother helping... thay just gave us a small box of tools that..well... my set at home kicked this set's ass back to tuesday, 1AD. tee hee. so, yeah, changed the battery and went back to work. got a few other things done... and then... went home, took a shower, then went to the mall to trade in a game. after that, went to Skeeters to get dinner and walked across to Molly's where everyone else was at... around 8:35ish. So Hails was there along with the crowd. Later, this cool chic showed up after her dinner date (hee hee) and was a pretty cool night.
Left the place around 11:15ish or so... got home, toothbrushed, checked mail, said hey to CinCity, and then tried (the key word here) to read a few more pages of The Historian (ok, Harry Potter 6 was a lil quicker read, but this book is cool too)... got through a few pages, and then zonked out.
So there, Smiley...that's why I didn't blog. Cuz I started the day well, and ended the night well.
Damn right it was a great day to be alive. yep.
