1997

Starrla and I were friends and knew each other since we started school in the Fall of 1994. But somehow, whenever they took pictures of Starrla and I, there was always a knack that the whole picture was never taken. Go figure. 11 yrs later, whenever I visit the island, I still have to say hi. Actually, of all my friends from college, she's one of the very few I keep tabs on.

1997... I'd started working at the computer labs and got blessed, which is really the right term, with working with KC. I'd heard her name mentioned here and there but never really knew her. Well, basically become a dynamic duo...WonderTwins, even...

One time at work, she was talking to her father on the phone, and I asked her if I could talk with him. She's like...Um...Bum? So I said, really, come on. So she starts warning me about her father's sense of humor, etc, and I said, yeah yeah, lemme talk with him. So...she tells her father that she was handing me the phone...and what do I say?

"heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey, Meester Suhleevah, ah teenk ah liiiike yer dauuuughter... sheeeee niiiIIiiiiiiceeee..."

and you could almost hear crickets from the other side. KC had this horrified look cuz she did NOT expect that...and the silence was killing me. And then, all i hear is this laughter on the other side, and I start laughing. KC's still got that look on her face, and then tell her Darth Father is laughing too.

The rest is, as they say, history. I'm now called 'celestial son'. But now... I have to ask them...how much for the younger seester. :)
